Background

Dr Jane A. Dwasi is the Director, Legal Affairs & Regulatory Compliance advising SPH’s business stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters while providing legal advice and support to all related stages of E.P.C. Contract negotiations and matters. She is further in charge of mitigating the company’s legal risk when entering into E.P.C. contracts while ensuring compliance of all concluded E.P.C. contracts with the applicable legislation, basic title documents under the projects and corporate standards. Dr Dwasi is the bridge coordinating with external legal counsel in the various local jurisdictions where SPH has engagements, at the same time providing legal support in litigation cases and acting as the intermediary between the various client’s project managers and the external litigators.

Dr Dwasi is currently a Professor of Law (Senior Lecturer) with the University of Nairobi, School of Law from 2002 to date, as well as a consultant with Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA); her other experience areas include:- Chairperson/Principal Judge with the National Environment Tribunal, Kenya (2013-2018); Member/Part-time Judge with the National Environment Tribunal, Kenya (2003-2013); Lead Environmental Impact Assessment (E.I.A.)
